Borg Warner Beru Systems direct-measuring Tire Safety System (TSS) alerts drivers of the new VW Passat to low tire pressure, contributing to increased safety as well as better fuel economy. Featuring a new slim design, the third generation TSS is standard equipment in production models sold in the U.S. and is available as an option in Europe. Beginning in 2014, tire pressure monitoring systems will become mandatory on new vehicles throughout the European Union.

Tenneco showcased its next generation of advanced semi- and fully-active suspension systems. The "Kinetic H2/CES" semi-active suspension system that recently went into series production on a British supercar. These lightweight and therefore fuel-efficient, electronic suspension systems successfully balance the compromise between performance, comfort, ride and handling, while also responding to requirements for improved fuel efficiency and the resultant reduced CO₂ emissions, as well as active safety. The company also demonstrated its fully-active suspension system, or "Acocar",  that targets the next generation of conventional, hybrid or electric luxury vehicles and is planned for series production from 2015.

TRW Automotive unveiled a folding steering wheel concept which retracts into the dashboard to improve driver comfort getting in and out of a vehicle. The automotive industry is being influenced by some key factors such as a more active older population and the growth of mega cities. As a result, vehicle manufacturers and suppliers need to find innovative solutions to improve driver accessibility and interior styling for smaller cars (A and B platform as well as electric cars). The foldable steering wheel concept is a prime example of technology that allows easier access for elderly people and those faced with mobility challenges.
