Nabtesco Precision Europe recently presented a new gear head series. The RD2 series not only features specifications that make it suitable for very demanding reduction tasks. It is also delivered ready for installation. What is new about this series are the expanded mounting options: RD2 gears are also suitable for belt-drive operation or can be installed at right angles. This makes the series even more flexible, allowing the customer to choose which drive type to use.

The reduction gear heads of the series combine the advantages of RV trochoidal gears – already sold millions of times – with easy mounting. The gear head is closed and filled with grease, so it is completely ready for installation. To facilitate installation even more, an adapter plate and a motor shaft coupling are included. Nabtesco offers gear variants with and without a hollow shaft, for implementation of numerous customized solutions.

The new series is based on the successful RD series, but offers even greater flexibility. As in the earlier series, the gear heads are already prepared for mounting. Nabtesco has further optimized the design, so that the new gears are even more lightweight and compact. Switching from the old series to the new RD2 series is easy, since the mounting dimensions and boring patterns are identical. The RD2 gear heads have been available for ordering since April 2012, with the entire line-up of all sizes included in the original RD series.
